What data do we collect?
Footprinter collects your company email address. You may voluntarily add your name and a picture to your profile. Footprinter considers all this information to be your personal information and this policy applies to all your personal information.
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide Footprinter with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:
Set up a user account.
Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
We may collect your data if your company has sent it to us to set you up as a user. Or they have set you up as a user. This may include a work colleague inviting you to our app to share sustainability information with you.
Footprinter does not collect data from any other source than you, your company or your work colleagues.
How will we use your data?
Footprinter collects your data so that we can:
Log you on to our sustainability web tools.
More easily identify you to your colleagues to support team work on shared projects.
Notify you via email when certain updates happen to your projects (e.g., a requested review is approved).
Just to be clear, we don’t track you. We don’t use Google Analytics or any other technology to log the use of our web tools.
How do we store your data?
Footprinter securely stores your data in the Google Cloud. Technically this is called the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Footprinter’s Google data center is in the USA. Footprinter and GCP use multiple layers of security including firewalls, encryption and other best-practice technologies. All data is encrypted when its moved around and when its stored. Footprinter only stores and uses your data when you are with the company and using our tools. We do not retain your personal data.
Do we share your data?
No. Footprinter never shares your data with 3rd-parties at any time for any reason. We only share your data with your colleagues to enable sharing of sustainability information and teamwork.
What are your data protection rights?
Footprinter want to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. In Europe, the GDPR governs personal privacy laws and rights. For California users, there are similar laws and rights.
As these laws apply to your interactions and use of Footprinter, you are entitled to the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request Footprinter for copies of your personal data.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Footprinter correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Footprinter erase your personal data.
